Our Research Team

The Future Building Initiative (FBI) is a cross-disciplinary research group focused on the industrialisation and digital transformation of the built environment. Researchers hold diverse backgrounds and utilise a design research methodology to work with industry partners on real world research projects. These projects critically examine the emerging tools, methods, technologies, business models, products, and processes of the future building industry. The FBI is based within Monash Art, Design and Architecture and is part of the cross-disciplinary creative hub at Caulfield campus.

The Opportunity

Provide key support to the Director of the Future Building Initiative (FBI) with the research activities and co-ordination of the FBI, focussing particularly on projects being run by the FBI through Building 4.0 CRC.

Activities include, but are not limited to assistance with:

  • The establishment and resourcing of research projects;
  • Oversight of research proposal development;
  • Preparation of materials and arranging of research meetings and workshops;
  • Writing and text review (research papers, proposals, and reports);
  • Active lines of research enquiry.

Experience and output in both traditional research s

Provide key support to the Director of the Future Building Initiative (FBI) relating to research activities and co-ordination of the FBI, focusing particularly on projects being run by the FBI through Building 4.0 CRC - an industry consortium committed to developing better buildings and new efficiencies through technology and collaboration

Activities include, but are not limited to assistance with:

  • Active lines of research enquiry
  • The establishment and resourcing of research projects
  • Assisting oversee research proposal development
  • Preparation of materials and arranging of research meetings, presentations, and workshops
  • Writing and text review (research papers, proposals, and reports)

Experience and output in both traditional research settings, and in working with industry partners on applied projects would greatly assist your success in this role.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
